Sewing pattern and tutorial drape neck jersey dress

Materials:
* Jersey (Fabric width: 140 cm)
   - 125 cm (size 04 - 14)  

Instructions:
The sewing pattern is available in my online shop. Sizes range from XS to XXL.

When working with knits, it is important not to stretch or pull the fabric while sewing. Also use a stretch needle and a stretch stitch. In this pattern all seams are sewed with a twin needle.

Step 1: Draw the pattern.
Print the sewing pattern in landscape mode at 100% on A4 paper or US Letter. Draw the pattern with an aqua trickmarker on the back of the fabric. The pattern is without seam allowance. Add 1 cm (5/8 inch) seam allowance. Add 2 cm (1 inch) seam allowance at bottom of the dress.

To adjust the pattern to your own body measurements, draw tthe bottom of the top 4 cm (2 inch) longer. At step 12 you can try it on and adept the length of the top. Or you could make a toile first.


Step 2: Cut the fabric.
Cut a front piece and back piece out of the fabric.

Step 3: Fold seam allowance neckline to the inside.
Fold seam allowance of the neckline to the inside (about 1 cm - 5/8 inch from the cut edge) and pin down.

Step 4: Sew.
Sew.

Step 5: Fold the cowl facing to the inside.
Fold the cowl facing to thi inside and pin down.

Step 6: Pin down the sides of the dress.
With right sides facing pin down the back and front piece.

Step 7: Sew.
Sew the sides of the shirt and the shoulder seams. Trim.

Step 8: Fold the seam allowance to the inside.
Fold the seam allowance of the armholes to the inside and pin down.

Step 9: Sew.
Turn the dress right side out. Sew together.
