When working with knits, it is important not to stretch or pull the
fabric while sewing. Also use a stretch needle and a stretch stitch. In
this pattern all seams are sewed with a twin needle.

Step 1: Draw the pattern. |
Print the sewing pattern in landscape mode in actual
size and using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. Draw the
pattern with an aqua trickmarker on the back of the fabric. The seam
allowance is already included in the pattern.
|
Step 2: Cut the fabric. |
Cut a front piece, a back piece and two sleeves out of the fabric.
|
Step 3: Sew neckband. |
Cut a 2″ (4,5 cm) wide strip of your ribbing. Align
the raw edges of the neckband with the raw edge of the neck opening,
wrong sides together. Sew at 3/8″ (1 cm) seam allowance. Stretch the
neckband while you sew, but be careful not to stretch or pull the knit fabric.

Fold the neckband over the cut edge, re-fold and pin down. Sew.
|
Step 5: Add ribbing to the bottom of the bodysuit. |

the raw edges of the ribbing with the raw edge of the bottom of the bodysuit,
wrong sides together. Sew at 3/8″ (1 cm) seam allowance. Stretch the
ribbing while you sew, but be careful not to stretch or pull the knit
fabric.
|
Step 6: Add ribbing to the bottom of the bodysuit. |

ribbing while you sew, but be careful not to stretch or pull the knit
fabric. Fold the ribbing over the cut edge, re-fold and pin down. Sew.

ReplyDeleteThank you ♥!!!!Gracias :)
ReplyDeleteJust making this, it looks lovely! May wondering why you don't set the sleeves before you sew the sides up. Would be easier to see a straight run than that tricky circle shoulder seam?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the free pattern. Godbless you!
ReplyDeleteAt the age of 60 I’m getting my first grandchild. I cannot wait to make these. Thank you
