Free sewing pattern and tutorial Women's Spaghetti Strap Swimsuit




Materials:
* Swimsuit fabric (swimsuit) (My own fabric design)
* Swimsuit lining fabric in black or white (lining)
* Strip swimsuit fabric  - 4,5 cm x 200 cm (1,8 in x 80 in) (neckband)

Instructions:
Download the free sewing pattern in size Small (A cup). Set your printer settings to A4 paper.

When working with knits, it is important not to stretch or pull the fabric while sewing. Also use a stretch needle and a stretch stitch. In this pattern (nearly) all seams are sewed with a twin needle.

Step 1: Draw the pattern.
Draw the back and front piece with an aqua trickmarker on the back of the swimsuit fabric. The pattern is without seam allowance. Ad 1 cm (0,4 in) seam allowance. Draw the neckline without seam allowance.

Draw a front piece on the back of the swimsuit lining fabric. Ad 1 cm (0,4 in) seam allowance. Draw the neckline and the leg holes without seam allowance.

Step 2: Cut the fabric.
Cut a front piece (2x) and a back piece out of both fabrics.

Step 3: Place the back piece on top of the front piece.
Place the front piece right-side up on your work surface. Place the back piece right-side down on top.

Step 4: Sew the bottom of the swimsuit.
Place the swimsuit lining on top. Pin down. Sew together. Trim.

Step 5: Sew the sides of the swimsuit.
Fold the swimsuit lining to the front. With right sides facing pin down the back and both front pieces. Sew the sides of the swimsuit. Trim.

Step 6: Fold the seam allowance to the inside.
Fold the seam allowance of the leg holes to the inside and pin down.

Step 7: Sew leg holes.
Turn the swimsuit right side out. Sew leg holes about 1 cm (0.4 in) from the outer edge. Trim.

Step 8: Sew neckband.
Turn right-side out. Cut a strip of fabric out of the swimsuit fabric (4,5 cm - 1.8 in wide). Align the raw edges of the neckband with the raw edge of the neck opening, wrong sides together. Sew 1 cm (0.4 in) from the outer edge. Stretch the neckband while you sew, but be careful not to stretch or pull the swimsuit.
Step 9: Sew neckband.
Fold the neckband over the cut edge, re-fold and pin down. Sew.
Step 10: Trim.
Trim.

Step 11: Sew straps.
Align the raw edges of the neckband with the raw edge of the neck opening, wrong sides together. Sew 1 cm (0.4 in) from the outer edge. Stretch the neckband while you sew, but be careful not to stretch or pull the swimsuit.

Step 12: Sew straps.
Fold the neckband over the cut edge, re-fold and pin down. Sew.
Step 13: Attach straps.
Sew the straps onto the back of the swimsuit. (Length of the straps: 44 cm) Put the swimsuit on. (The length of the straps depends on the stretch of the fabric). Trim.
